SingularLogic supported the technological modernization of the Financial Operations for the City of Athens

Implementing and configuring SAP S/4HANA supported the adoption of the new Accounting Framework and the preparation of the Opening Balance Sheet.

The City of Athens has achieved a significant national milestone, becoming the first municipality in Greece to complete the preparation and independent audit of its Opening Balance Sheet as of January 1, 2026, in accordance with the new Accounting Framework for General Government (Presidential Decree 54/2018), which standardizes public sector accounting and aligns it with international standards.

As part of this initiative, SingularLogic served as a specialized technology partner to DAEM for the City of Athens, implementing and configuring SAP S/4HANA to meet the requirements of the new Accounting Framework and support the preparation of the Opening Balance Sheet.

This implementation formed part of a broader effort to align the City’s financial operations with the new regulatory and accounting requirements, highlighting the essential role of modern enterprise systems in supporting complex financial processes.

The City of Athens’ achievement marks an important step towards greater transparency, more reliable financial reporting, and more effective management of municipal resources.
