The project concerned the development and operation of Municipal Portal for 101 Municipalities in Western and Southern Greece (under 20.000 residents), aiming at the adoption of new technologies especially the Internet to better serve citizens and businesses.

In particular, the benefits of the project are:

• More efficient and quicker information of citizens and other interested people for cultural, sporting and other activities, that take place in the wider region of the Municipality
• Support of the citizens via Internet and other interested people, regarding the services of the Municipality
• Recording, classification and integration of significant information, regarding the matters of each Municipality and creation of central point of access to these information
• Strengthening and promotion of the wider area of the municipality. Presenting the particularities/achievements of the municipality
• Familiarization of citizens with the new technologies
• Improvement of relations between Municipality and Citizens and creation of a modern communication channel
• Increase of citizen participation in Municipalities' matters
• Significant savings of time and resources for employees and for citizens, who use the services of the Municipal Internet Portal
• Improved service provision of persons with special needs (ΑΜΕΑ) and immigrants.
